Super Bowl XLIV was the most watched program in US history

Sunday night’s Super Bowl XLIV was viewed by 106.5 million people in the US, becoming the most watched program in US television history. The prior most watched program was the series finale of M*A*S*H, which had 105.97 million viewers when it aired in February 1983.

Super Bowl XLIV is also, obviously, the most watched Super Bowl in history, edging out last year’s Super Bowl which had set the record with 98.7 million viewers.

Buffalo Bills partied too hard during Super Bowl weeks

Darren Woodson, a former safety on the Dallas Cowboys during their 1990′s Super Bowl years, claims that the Buffalo Bills lost four straight Super Bowls due to their excessive partying in the week leading up to the game.

Woodson on Mike and Mike In The Morning:

“As much as everyone talked about how much experience the Bills had back then, they partied harder than any other team. That’s all we heard about the entire week in L.A., the (Cowboys) first Super Bowl.

They (Bills players) were out Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Couple guys got into altercations in the clubs, older, veteran guys with the Bills.

Experience doesn’t mean that much, it’s all about leadership. There’s a reason they (Bills) lost four Super Bowls. They partied harder than any other team.”

President Obama is rooting for the Saints

President Barack Obama recently told ABC’s Diane Sawyer that he is rooting for the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV.

“You know, I think both teams are terrific. I guess I am rooting a little bit for the Saints as the underdog, partly just because when I think about what’s happened in New Orleans over the last several years and how much that team means to them. You know, I’m pretty sympathetic.”
